It's a hard life trying to compete against the rats of the sea. Ob-Lob ships are better than everyone else's and they'll pirate you six ways from sevensong if you try to compete. The best way to eke out a living is to stay low to the ground and hope no one notices you.
The Helusian Spirit doesn't want to eke any more.
The company is based in Freeport, the infamous pirate city. That's where they have their offices and own a berth in the harbour (which gets rented out to cover expenses while they're away). They also have a few connections in other points along the Helusian coast up into the Truil Wastes. It's a less lucrative route than the Milondese passages, but the Ob-Lobs this direction have a bit less to defend. It's worked for the Spirit so far.
After their recent exploits in Titra the Helusian Spirit is now a minor supplier of Moonstone in Freeport. Their ten crates are slowly and profitably being sold off and invested in other areas. Now not every bit of revenue is going right back into expenses.
The Spirit is currently engaged in a 6 month project to find the secret of the Ob-Lob ships for the Freeport Captains' Council. To that end they were loaned a disguised Admiralty ship, the Ketchum along with her crew, but it has since been returned after the capture of the Mikobutakiba.
The Spirit has diversified its interests into whores as well. It's working with the Helusian Benevolent Association as their presence in the Docks.
All of that came crashing to a halt when Freeport was threatened with a general blockade by the Kodamurpantu family. The company has been stripped of its assets (except the Spirit itself which was already at sea under the command of Lt. Mikoto) and the surviving findable command crew have been exiled off into the Ruhini Desert.

The Ship

While The Helusian Spirit is the name of the Company, it's also a ship. She's classed as a Well-Armed Merchant ship. Not fantastically powerful, but she does all right. She's about 25m long, has a built up sterncastle for the small command crew quarters and the mess. The workshop is below decks, where the crew sleeps in hammocks suspended above the cargo. Crew complement of 25 (10 of which are busy in the rigging and on deck when at sea).

3/3/4
The Spirit carries 8 Ballistas, 4 to a side. The sailors are all Threat 2 normally, but with the Captains' Council's funding they're Threat 3 (armed with shortswords and shortbows).
