The Helusian Spirit and the Ketchum set out for Port Strike, looking for the Mitos. TC Uki asked some Ob-Lobs who were unloading a ship on the Port Strike docks if they'd seen the Mitos, and the short bald man supervising said he'd just come from the south.
Over at The Rosy Finger, a small tavern that wasn't quite full this early in the afternoon, Tank Tursel settled in for a pint and a bowl, chatting up the hob-Ob-Lob bar girl. He tried to get into the back being "old buddies" with her dad, but she didn't believe him. TC Uki got a bit more information from her about the Mitos who'd been in earlier in the week, and then he started asking about shipbuilders. Tursel got a little upset when he saw the question puzzled the bar girl and intervened by throwing his beer on his buddy. Uki got a towel and snapped it at Tank. Karis hid in the corner shaking his head.
Karis was trying to listen in on the conversation between three of the non-Lobs but got a little too close to their table. Two of them were very suspicious but the third, Leary (not his real name), was glad to hear that Karis wanted to stick a sword in some guts. He told Karis how a big fucker'd been in a few days before looking to get some troops together to go fuck up this crew that stole from them. He didn't know where the Mitos were going but knew they were looking for the Spirit. Tank watched them for a while afterwards and asked if Karis had been bothering them. Leary told Tank to fuck off.
Karis, Uki and Tank got together outside to figure out what to do next. Tank headed into the broker house and said the Takis were unloading some cotton that might need to head Titra way but Tank turned him down. Then he tried to find out where the Mitos were heading from the dock guy in his little hut, and found out they were "heading back the way they came." The plan became, "Let's call them out." They made a big sign in Ob-Lob (Ndege carved while Uki translated) saying the Mitos were a bunch of pussies who were going down like Titolaki did. They put it up by the Rosy Finger and took off.
While sailing towards the sunline Urdil did some healing on the people who needed it. Karis tried to train his dog to fetch things for him. Uki worked on some boots.
On their second day out of Port Strike they spotted a ship. Calebain went out to check if it was the Mitos and they spotted him and figured it was when they started shooting at him. The Mitos closed on the Ketchum first. Their catapults hit the decks of the ship while the Ketchum's shooting merely splintered the hull. By the time the Spirit got involved, under cover from a Calebainian fog bank, the Ketchum's deck weapons were severely damaged. Then the two ships closed to boarding range and things got hectic.
There was a big Ob-Lob, Kanota, with a fancy sword leading the resistance to the Spirit's boarding action. He screamed and yelled as combat began and then decapitated one of the Spirit's sailors in a flash of murderous crimson. A bunch of sailors freaked out and it was just the command crew left to fight the Ob-Lob horde.
Calebain blasted Kanota with lightning as he went for Karis, who threw a knife that severed something in his arm, making it useless and dropping his sword. He still managed to hit Karis, but he was getting mobbed by the Moonstone cowboys. Tursel finally finished Kanota off with a bloody swing of his polearm.
Meanwhile the Ob-Lob archers were firing on Calebain, who'd blasted Bakinu, the captain of the ship. Calebain was hit in the chest, where his new armour from Zov saved him and took an arrow to his skull, which almost killed him.
Then it was basically a matter of cleanup. They barricaded the doors to the lower decks trapping whoever was down there, while they climbed up the rigging and finished off the last resisters.
Karis started dropping bodies down into the cargo hold while getting TC Uki to tell anyone belowdecks to come up and surrender. Five Ob-Lobs came up, including one blonde one who they said was in charge, Rakabutaketuta.
Karis, Tank, Uki and Grell headed belowdecks to flush out anyone who might be hiding. When they got down into the hold they found some tools and a leak from a deliberately made hole. Suspicious, they kept searching and found an old man hiding behind some ballast/catapult rocks. They questioned him to find out he was Kitolakita, patriarch of the family. They brought him up on deck and demanded he tell them how to sail the ship. Tank chopped off the hand of one of the five who'd surrendered. Kitolakita wouldn't talk. Then he chopped off the sailor's arm at the elbow. Then he cut off Kitolakita's testicles. Kitolakita bit back the pain, but still managed to defiantly spit at Tursel. He asked to be killed; they had already taken everything important to him, his ship his family, everything.
They turned to Rakabutaketutata and asked him to be reasonable. And he was. He said he'd sail the ship for them. Tursel was outraged and demanded Kitolakita tell him why Tursel had to cut off his balls if his son was just going to roll over like that. Kitolakita was full of shame when he said he thought his family had more pride, but they'd disappointed him one last time. Karis argued that they should just kill Kitolakita, and Tursel finally agreed, chopping off the old man's head.
Thus ended the Mitotanitututami family.
