Storms
Storms make sailing suck. When you're caught in a storm the captain makes a Knowledge+Sailing roll vs the Difficulty of the ship or the storm (whichever is higher) every so often, depending on the severity of the storm. On a failure, the storm rolls with a pool equal to its severity.
A storm success does Width in Superficial and Structural damage to the location rolled and 1 Superficial damage to the Waste dice locations. If that location is the Hull there are no further penalties. Any other location means Width in crew at that location are swept overboard. PCs may make Body+Athletics OR Coordination+Climb rolls to hang onto something.
